A grand reunion

A lively ceilidh for Kerrie and Grant’s wedding party near Dorchester last Saturday; it didn’t take long for the band to realise there were a lot of familiar faces – including the bride and groom.  We had played for Nina and Ross’s wedding barn-dance in 2015 at Daccombe near Torquay and they were the same group of friends.  Recommendation is always reassuring that we are getting it right!  In the picture, Kerrie and Grant demonstrate ( with our callers help ) the ‘Gay Gordon’s for the first dance which they led.  Grant, a Shetlander, and all his family were good dancers and needed little instruction – our caller, Joan enjoyed herself!

Many thanks to Piping Hot Ceilidh Band for the fantastic evening at our daughter’s (Kerrie), and her husbands (Grant) wedding, it truly made their day special for them. What a surprise for the guests, when the piper appeared after the ceremony, we had even tried to keep it a secret from the groom!!
It was a fantastic day, topped off with some brilliant music, even for those of us who weren’t brave enough to dance, it was very entertaining.
Sorry for the delay in posting this comment, it has been a very busy year!!
